Spin the wheel

Create a customisable spin wheel and spin to pick a random option. Add as many choices as you like and remove winners to avoid repeats.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is sent to any server.

How does the Wheel Spinner work?

Add your options in the entries panel, then click "Spin" to start the wheel. The wheel spins with realistic deceleration and lands on a random segment. Results are tracked in the history panel so you can verify fairness over multiple spins. Remove entries by clicking the X, or add new ones at any time — the wheel segments update automatically. Every spin uses cryptographically secure randomness, so each entry has exactly equal probability regardless of where it sits on the wheel.

When should you use a Wheel Spinner?

Teachers use the wheel to pick students randomly. Streamers use it for giveaways. Teams use it to choose who presents next. Friends use it to settle where to eat. Party games, random prompts, decision-making — anywhere a visual spin creates more anticipation than a plain random number.

Common Uses

  • Classroom engagement: Teachers add students' names to the wheel to call on participants fairly and add an element of fun to class participation.
  • Meeting agenda ordering: Spin to determine the presentation order for team stand-ups, retrospectives, or show-and-tell sessions.
  • Dinner and restaurant decisions: Add cuisine options or restaurant names and spin to eliminate decision fatigue when choosing where to eat.
  • Prize and raffle draws: Add participant names for a transparent, observable prize draw during events, webinars, or company all-hands.
  • Game show format: Create custom spin-wheel rounds for pub quizzes, team trivia, or live event games with category labels as segments.
  • Chore assignment: Assign household or office chores randomly so the allocation feels fair and removes the need for negotiation.
  • Travel destination selection: Add destination options and spin to make a committed, random travel choice when any option sounds equally appealing.

FAQ

Is the wheel truly random?

Yes. The wheel uses the Web Crypto API — the same cryptographic randomness browsers use for generating encryption keys. Each segment has exactly equal probability regardless of its size on screen or its position.

Can I save my wheel?

Currently the wheel resets on page reload. Bookmark the page and re-enter your options if you need the same wheel again. Saved wheels are a planned future feature.

How many entries can I add?

There is no hard limit, but the wheel works best with 2 to 20 entries. With more than about 15, labels become too small to read on the wheel itself. The result display and history always show the full name regardless of label size.

Does the wheel spinner store my data?

No. Wheel entries exist only in the browser tab's memory. Nothing is sent to a server or saved to your device after you close the tab.

Is the wheel spinner truly random?

Yes. The wheel uses a cryptographically random number generator to select the winning segment. Each item has an equal probability of winning regardless of its visual size on the wheel.
